Article: Chasing the Eclipse With Reuben Wu

In August 2026, we traveled with Mission Workshop to the Sierra de Urbión mountains in northern Spain to put the new Meridian LS backpack to the test, timed to coincide with the total solar eclipse. Joining us was photographer and visual artist Reuben Wu, who was there to document the eclipse.

Located in the province of Soria, the region is a landscape of dense pine forests, rugged rock formations, and expansive mountain views. We spent our time hiking through the surrounding terrain, scouting locations for the eclipse. After exploring several sites, Reuben settled on a viewpoint overlooking the mountains to photograph the event.

Photographer Kike Vega joined us to document the journey, capturing Reuben at work, the Meridian LS in the field, and the moments behind the scenes.

Throughout the trip, Reuben carried the Meridian LS paired with the Mission Workshop Capsule Camera Inserts. The setup kept his cameras and equipment protected and organized as we explored the surrounding mountains and moved between potential shooting locations.
